About Us

BWC Senior Companions began in August 2019 with one client: Donna. As Donna moved from an Assisted Living community into an Adult Family Home, it became clear how important companionship, consistency, activities, and conversations are for seniors adjusting to changes in their living environments and when higher levels of care are needed.

Tonya Hilson, the visionary behind BWC Senior Companions, continues to stay involved in the companionship and activity program while also leading BWC Senior Living Placement. Her Mondays are spent visiting clients throughout Everett, Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace, where she continues building relationships with referral partners, making seniors smile and staying connected to the heart of the program that first began in 2019 with one client, Donna.

Every senior’s situation is different. Some aging adults may live alone and need more social interaction and mental stimulation. Others may be adjusting to memory changes, being widowed, changes in independence, adapting to a new senior living setting or beginning to feel like a burden as their adult children balance careers, families, and responsibilities of their own. Many simply need someone consistent to spend time with them, listen to their stories, and help brighten their week.

Although our clients are referred by family members, guardians, POAs, healthcare providers, and senior care professionals, our goal is always the same: to help seniors continue feeling connected, encouraged, and involved in life.

The heart behind BWC is creating memorable moments that remind seniors they are still valued, still necessary, still important, and still deserving of fun!
